    Yow, I couldn't ever imagine the hardships of traveling around and over the Sierras on foot and oxen pulled wagons. A rugged and beautiful view, and shadow too!

    I've really enjoyed your photos -- shadow and otherwise of the Sierras and like Ralph, it's hard to even imagine what it was like for those who traveled this way so many years ago! Fabulous shadow shot, as always! Enjoy your weekend!

    I like how the shadow of the chain seems to drop off the edge of the wall. Fantastic view and the map is neat too.

    wow - what an amazing photography.

    As a chain is only as strong as its weakes piece, the shadow somehow did provide hope it might be strong.

    There is a wall about 18-24" high that the chain is on. Not really much protection if one is being careless.

    Ahhhhhh-mazing view! Do I see a snow-covered road off to the right side? Hopefully it will only be the chain's shadow that falls over the edge. Eeek, that's scary!

    Love the chain shadow. . . and the view because of the snwo with blue sky! (Now that I have given up on more snow, they predict some for Monday. . . I wonder what snow covered flowers will look like?)
