We took a drive through Joshua Tree last month. Even though we arrive mid-day on a weekday, the campgrounds were full.
The park is named for these Joshua Trees, a tall variety of Yucca that was just beginning to bloom during our visit.
As interesting as the they are, it is not the Joshua trees that draw most people to the Park.
It is the rocks.
This is a popular area for rock climbers.
It seems it is never too early to start. This family was teaching their children to climb.

I would LOVE to see the Joshua tree in bloom. I'll have to visit the park in April one day. :)

I don't remember seeing a Joshua tree but surely I did when we were rock hunting with my Dad. . . They start those kids rock climbing early, don't they!

ReplyDeleteThanks for taking me back to Joshua Tree, it's been too long. The rocks there are so magnificent and it's fun to watch the climbers or go for a boulder hop hike.
