Garden Shadows

The clematis and fairy rose against this south facing wall get a second life now that the sun is low. They suffer in the summer heat but bloom again now, casting their shadows against the wall.


The red maple in the back yard is one of the last in the neighborhood to turn.
The salvia needs to be cut back and maybe replaced. It did not do well this summer. It makes an interesting shadow though.

    This is a beautiful garden, the shadows artistic from the metal squares (man-made and angular) to the natural shapes of the flowers. I like this garden as the shadows play off the wall nicely.

    Thought I'd come and smell your flowers, Martha, since I'm having snow today. I planted a Clematis in Denver, but it didn't do well - maybe too hot?

    Your clematis is so lovely and I like how the shadows create additional interest against the wall. I hadn't thought of capturing shadows in photos. Great idea!
