Bungee Jumping

Since New Zealand is an island nation I have plenty of watery shots that I could share. These I think are kind of fun. We stopped at the Kawarau Bridge to watch the bungee jumpers.
Some dove right off.
The bungees are matched to the weight of the jumper so they just hit the water, at least that's the theory.
They bounce a few times.

Then they climb down a pole into the waiting boat.

Some were more reluctant. We weren't sure this girl was going to do it.

She did though and once launched see seemed to enjoy herself.

It looks like she is smiling.

Although some pixels are blown, I like this shot.

None of our group of senior citizens gave it a try. Actually, I don't think our minders would have allowed us, but it was fun to watch.

  2. It looks like fun on pix, but this is one activity I'd rather photograph than participate in.

NZ must be a delightful place to visit.

  29. When I was in New Zealand years ago I saw them bungee jump from this bridge except it was winter there and the water was freezing. These pictures are amazing though, capturing the moments as they happened.

  30. Great shots, but I don't think it would go over in My Muskoka ! Too many of us are over age 50 and value our pensions!!!

  31. We took our son and his friend to Canada for hisw seventeenth birth so they could bungee jump. The friend jumped right away. Our son teetered on the edge, and I thought, Oh, he can't do it. But then he did. When we were able to talk to him, he said it was wonderful, the most freeing thing he had even done.

  32. It's on Ranney's bucket list.

Not me. I'm doing well to drive across a bridge, much less jump off of it attached to a big rubber band.

  33. Such bravery! I fear I am way too cautious. Great photos!

  34. Looks like a rush! I think I'd rather watch though and take photos. You certainly took some good ones!

  35. That's one action we missed to watch when we were in Taupo's Bungy Jumping Place. Our boys, three of them did not dare.

So I bought with me a postcard. I still have to find time in posting it.

Oh, thanks for the visit in my main blog. We think alike in respect to gargantuan church buildings against the impoverish and suffering people.
