Shadows on the Snow

There's still lots of snow at 9600', always a great canvas for shadows.

You can find lots more shadows at Hey Harriet,  hosted for us by Tracy in Brisbane.

  1. We still have some patches of snow in the forests at 8800 ft.

  2. It is a wonderful canvas! Minus the winter cold of the North, we can more fully enjoy the beauty of the fallen, frozen precipitation. THe evergreens are profiled beautifully, the snow so brilliant as it is closer to the sun. Nice!

  4. Lovely shadows! But after this past winter, I'm really glad there's no more snow around here.
    Happy shadow-hunting!

  5. I don't envy the snow, that's for sure, but it does provide a perfect backdrop for gorgeous shadow shots and you caught a perfect shadow on the perfect backdrop! Lovely! Hope you have a Happy Memorial Day, Martha!

  7. Beautiful lacy shadows! You don't live up that high though do you? I like snow if it is within an easy drive, but not in my driveway. (At least I used to -- it's been a while since we spent a Winter anywhere near that white stuff.)

  8. Beautiful, but I rather enjoy watching it melt into those beautiful streams and falls of Yosemite...the sunset below is just breathtaking. We've been having picture perfect weather here in Iowa of late, I've never had such HUGE strawberries...bummer huh...ha!

  11. Years since last I saw that much snow...sigh... it didn't even rain for more than half an hour since spring over here.
Thank you for this small escape. Please have you all a nice Sunday.

  12. Wow, snow and shadows what a great combination.

Sometimes I wish we had snow in Winter, instead of continual rain.

  13. Martha - I'm in Moab and have been seeing snow on the high peaks. We'll be home tomorrow - I hope your shadow shot is not a forecast of what's in store for me!

  20. A beautiful canvas, indeed. But for right now, I'd like my shadows cast on warm earth!
