Oh, Martha, these are fantastic!! Absolutely incredible captures! I love zoos if only because they help save so many species that are so rapidly disappearing, but also because I love having the opportunity to see animals like these which would be impossible without the zoos. And the San Diego Zoo is terrific! Hope your weekend is off to a great start! Enjoy!
Martha, I am (again) awed by your talent. The haiku is perfect as are the shadows. You can see the strength of this wild animal.
I have mixed feelings about zoos now, but for the most part I love them for the reasons that you and Sylvia (first comment) express so well. Just a beautiful post!

ReplyDeleteYeow! or I should say Meow! I'm glad to be seeing the shadow from the safe side of the chain link fence. Great shadow shot and capture of the kitty!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful words and pics.
ReplyDeleteThe shadow adds texture to this majestic cat. Great captures Martha.
ReplyDeleteThat cat means business! The shadows just emphasise the intent.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is a beautiful animal!
ReplyDeleteHe's looking for some lunch!
ReplyDeleteThat is great--in the first shot, the shadow looks almost like scales on the cat. Very nice.
