Powered Paragliders

We went to San Diego with Michael and his parents.  On the way we stopped to picnic on the beach and I spotted these paragliders.
It seems we are always trying to emulate the birds.
Man longs to fly.
See more views of the sky at SkyWatch Friday, hosted for us by Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy and Sylvia.

  1. Oh, I always enjoy watching the para gliders! We have lots of them here in Washington. Your photos are terrific! I hope Michael enjoyed seeing them! Hope the rest of your week goes well, Martha!

  2. Excellent captures of these free fliers. My preference is no motor, just me and the wind, oh some sort of wings. ;)

  3. Those are some colorful para gliders. Have you ever seen the ones who "fly" off cliffs? Hope you had a great trip.

  5. That looks like so much fun, but I'm scared of heights, so I'll leave it to those who can handle it!!! LoL!

  10. I love watching them -- so beautiful to look at. I don't want to try it -- would rather just dream of flying!

  14. Yes, we long to fly, but we sure have taken all the joy out of commercial air travel! These guys look like they are having a lot more fun without having to suffer the indignities of security inspections and cramped seating.

Lovely photos, Martha. Thanks for visiting my empty skies.

  16. At the beach 5 minutes from my school, people are up in the kites. I wonder if they ever need to work.
