Shadows at the Pond

We are fortunate that our community has so much open space, so many places where we can view natures creatures.  We've been going to the ponds lately, to enjoy the variety of wildlife.  It's a little far for our daily walk so we try to combine it with other errands.
Almost gone the sun
Heron waits, still on duty
Shadows stretch to night
There are more shadows to be found at Shadow Shot Sunday, hosted for us by Tracy at Hey Harriet.

  5. Martha, I love this line: "Shadows stretch to night" He looks like a sentinel.

  6. That is one fine and proud looking bird! It comports itself well, balancing on those spindly legs. The shape from tail to bill looks lovely in both subject and shadow...

  11. Hey, Martha!

Love the heron shot. They are amazing birds. Tried to rescue one once and it was a disaster but I learned a lot about what not to do next time.

We see them on the river a lot and around ponds here.

    Happy thanksgiving,
    Gina
