I couldn't decide if this was a sky shot or a shadow shot so this week it will be my entry for both.
You can find more views of the sky at SkyWatch Friday, hosted for us by Klaus, Sandy, Wren and Sylvia.
More shadows are yours at Shadow Shot Sunday, hosted by Tracy at Hey Harriet.

I love the look of the old missions. Beautiful blue sky, too.
ReplyDeleteI just love the California missions and have visited so many of them as a child. Sadly, I have never been to the San Francisco mission.
ReplyDeleteI thought I recognized this from the thumbnail. Did you enjoy your visit?
ReplyDeleteI love missions and visiting them.

beautiful clear blue sky, we've had much rain and cloudy skies, cold weather is blowing in
ReplyDeleteIs this a church and a convent? Great capture!

Hehe! Sometimes it IS hard to decide, I agree! I LOVE the pure blue sky. And when I enlarged the photo I discovered the true beauty of the shadow. :)
ReplyDeleteI do love the old missions and what gorgeous blue skies! It will indeed make a terrific entry for both memes! Beautiful photo as always, Martha!

Love the contrast between the building and the crystal blue sky. Nicely captured indeed.
ReplyDeleteI love that cross against the pretty blue sky! Great photo!
ReplyDeleteThe pure blue sky is a wonderful contract to the mission. I really like the cross and the bell .... I really like missions! I have to visit them any time I see one.
ReplyDeleteIncredibly blue sky! Thanks for sharing and have a wonderful weekend.

It's pretty no matter what it counts as! I've often wanted to travel around California just taking pictures of mission architecture. I don't remember ever having seen this one--thanks for posting it.
ReplyDeleteHope you don't mind that I linked your September post on Mono Lake; for some reason I don't have any digital versions, and no scanner handy--but you've got several nice shots on that page.
It took me a minute to see the shadow. I kept looking and asking myself "where's the shadow". I found the shadow. I wanted to mention the sky too. It is such a gorgeous blue color! The photograph belongs in both memes!
ReplyDeleteIt's perfect for both memes! And perfect as a picture really. Very picturesque.
ReplyDeleteIts a great shot for any meme.
ReplyDeleteTo this New Englander, this is the classic look of the southwest. From the stucco to the red tile roof, is is beautiful. The sky is glorious, the cross on the peak brilliant. Nice!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post to share. Love the sky, the white & the earthy tone, perfect.
ReplyDeleteHappy SSS...

That really is a beautiful blue sky!
ReplyDeleteAhhh, yes...I remember the sun...ha! Be a while before we can really enjoy it again comfortably here in Iowa!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the beautiful old missions as well. I've never seen one in person!
ReplyDeleteI understand what you mean about a photo being perfect for two memes!
Gorgeous sky and cool shadow.
Have a nice Sunday!
Very nice...haven't been up to Sonoma in ages; this is making me think I should visit again.
ReplyDeleteIt's fun visiting the missions. So much to photograph. Perfect California shot here! Thanks for your visits. Enjoy the day.
