Moon Shadows.

I've been experimenting again, this time with night photography. Enlarge to get the full effect.
With the moon full, I took a picture of the cabin behind ours with a two minute exposure.
A few nights later it was Labor Day weekend and the neighbors were in residence. I like the glow through the curtains but now the moon was lower and not casting shadows against the wall. I was surprised to see the hint of blue sky, it was 10 pm and the sun had set two hours earlier.
Another neighbor with a light in the window and the moonlight shining on the woodpile.
I used an ISO of 400 with the lens wide open. The two minute exposure was about right but it depends on the conditions, one night there was some haze from fires and then the moon was waning. My camera takes as long or longer to process the shot as the exposure so each one took over four minutes.
You can see more interesting shadows at Hey Harriet.

I am fascinated by your photos and loved the explanation! I think I like best the depth given by the shadows in the first photo!

It's a lovely idea to take moon shadow photographs and yours are quite ethereal - beautiful!

Those are something we see so often but, often don't notice. We look up in amazement at the moon and forget to notice it's light right here in front of us...Thank you for the reminder to keep an eye open at night.

Wonderful experimentations ... clever title. Of course I'll be humming this song indefinitely today ... just because. I shared Plumeria shadows at Happily Retired Gal and 'doggy shadows' at Small Reflections this week.
Hugs and blessings,
