Falling Shadows

Fallen leaves

Spent grass and twigs, blown by the wind

Cast their shadows as Apollo's chariot hastens to the west.

Very cute shadow shots. The wind blows here today also.
Figures the driver was under the influence.

Lovely shadows and words! We're having lots of wind these days -- gusts up to 40 mph -- no fun getting out for much of anything!

Stay warm and enjoy your weekend, Martha!

It's strange sitting here on the other side of the world reading about autumn leaves. Some of our leaves are falling too, but that's due to the unseasonal heat!

Beautiful shots.

Likewise, M! Loving the simplicity and so neat.

Have a blessed week-end and week ahead, if ever we don't cross our path somewhere.

These grasses and the like seem so small, perhaps insignificant. Yet they seem to be larger than life and exceeding their size in shadows. The concrete seems to be the perfect canvas for this natural art!

Wonderful shadow shots. Blowing leaves and grasses are very much a part of fall.

Melancholy shadows of fall's demise. I really like your SWF hawk shots, too, Martha. So lucky that he stuck around!

It's a splendid thing, the changing of the seasons seen in the death of the summer into winter...though I'd rather be in sunny California than the frigid Midwest for the duration of it...we've been lucky so far, just countin' the days till spring...

Beautiful images and words. Neat how those shadows look more dynamic than the objects that cast them.

Happy SSS to you.
I really like how the first ones shadow is so differnt than the leaf is, looking at it from the angle of your shot.

Wonderfully creative idea, and the textures and shapes are fascinating. I especially like the first one. It has a spare, sculptural quality about it.

Thanks so much for stopping by at mine!
