Agave Shadows

It was nice to see the sun this week, even if it was only for a couple of days. I tried to make the most of the sunshine and went for a walk to see if I could find some interesting shadows. One of my neighbors has some agave growing in the front yard.
Their spiny leaves make great shadow shots.
She has some cacti as well. Some of her plants were badly damaged in this year's freeze but these withstood the weather well.

Check out more shadows at Hey Harriet, hosted by Tracy.

Don't get against that spiny one, Martha! I do love the shapes of cacti - they provide such interesting shots.

The desert flora is just beautiful. The agave leaves wonderful three-sided leafy shadows, the cactus shadow is true to its subject. Lovely warm views!

Great shadows of plants that I would never find growing in my neck of the woods!

You captured some lovely shadows on your walk. I like the word 'architecturalness' that Sam used in her comment above. Not a word one hears very often!

Hey great point you made in your comment on my blog about memes being an invitation to link thoughts & minds. I totally agree and see a lot of that happening amongst bloggers, which is lovely!

We haven't had many shaddows lately.

Back to answer your question -- the title says that it was the old Carneige library and now is a museum. All those libraries wee built with the same plans so are identical. Of course, they ahve added a portion on to the back for the handicapped access now. . .

Great shots. I mourn the death and destruction in our yards from the frost, but then I think of Haiti. God bless them. B : )

Why don't you come on over to my blog and visit a while

Great shadow shots! I especially enjoy the spiny shadows on the agave leaves themselves.

Oh Martha,
Any post with the title 'Agave' is a must read for me ;-) I love almost everything about agaves and they do have beautiful shadows, don't they?

Beautiful pictures and we are also seeing the sun - but very little green. Just wait a couple of months.

Looks a little prickly to me but the shadow wouldn't hurt LOL
