The previous post showed the first day of the Milford Track. If we had continued to the end we would have wound up at Milford Sound (after a short boat ride at trails end). We did it the easy way. We took a bus to the sound and a tour boat around the sound.

Our guides apologized to us for the lack of water in the falls.

This California native thought there was plenty of water in the falls and there were waterfalls everywhere we looked. The scenery in the sound is breathtaking.

We even spotted a little wildlife, actually, rather calm life.

Amazing pictures! Breathtaking! Love the seals sunbathing, lol...Christine
ReplyDeleteGlorious photos! Especially partial to the waterfall ones!
ReplyDeleteHehehe, I love your "calm life". The seals look so comfortable resting. The waterfalls are just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteNow, how did they get on top of that big rock? That's pretty high up there!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos & I love those falls, there's plenty of water for me to enjoy those views!!!
Oh, the Milford Sound has got to be one of the most beautiful places on the planet. We flew in from Wanaka, took a cruise and flew back out in one day because we were short on time at the end of the trip but it was SO worth it!
ReplyDeletebreathtaking waterfall!
ReplyDeletethanks for sharing, and your thoughtful comment, too!
have a great day!

Wow! What a beautiful place. I would agree that the falls seem plenty full...but, we're from California, what do we know?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful waterfall! No apology needed.
ReplyDeleteWe visited Milford Sound last year and we were lucky to see it in dazzling weather. No waterfalls though.
ReplyDeleteWow...amazing shots of the waterfall!
ReplyDeleteLooks like water to me, and I love those sealions basking on the rocks. Thanks for sharing:)
ReplyDeleteHi Martha,
ReplyDeleteI did try air puffs with a brush but it didn't work. I know I can photoshop out the spot, but I don't want to have to worry about it. We'll see what the camera guy has to say. He did tell me that there are only certain things you can use on the sensor.
Wonderful photos, love the waterfalls and yes there is a lot of water going over the falls. This looks like a beautiful place to visit.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at loud when you said that your guides apologized for the lack of water. Those are what I call "real" waterfalls and they're gorgeous! I love the "calm" wildlife.
ReplyDeleteIt sure is pretty there! I'm a sucker for waterfalls. :)
ReplyDeleteYup ... to THIS native Californian this looks like a pretty full waterfall. Love these photos and the ones in your previous post too. I'd love to visit New Zealand but doubt I'll get there (in THIS lifetime anyway) so thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHugs and blessings,
Love those snoozing seals, Martha. I can almost hear the roar of the falls - beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh, you have brought back wonderful memories with your wonderful photos.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, there's plenty of water... It's breathtakingly beautiful! Great photo's. It sounds like a dreamland with all the water and wildlife. Blessings to you and yours. Love and Light, Nina P
ReplyDeleteHi Martha,
ReplyDeleteLack of water? Are they crazy? This California native and current Arizona resident thinks that is a lot of water - so beautiful!
Thanks for your comment on my cat in the shadows.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a lovely place to visit.
Those look like plentiful waterfalls to me! I'm used to the dry "washes" and river beds of Arizona. LOL!
