Empire Mine Cottage Door

I liked the shadows made by the stepped pattern of the brickwork around the cottage door.  Of Course, the garland had a nice shadow as well.
There are more shadows to be found at Shadow Shot Sunday, hosted for us by Tracy at Hey Harriet.

what an ususual way to lay bricks I have never seen that before.

Is it typical of that style of cottage?

Thanks for popping by my blog,

Wow, that brick work, and the shadows, are amazing. Looks like a very stout door.

I like the layering effect of the brick archway. It feels like a 3-D trellis leading up to the door. This is nice, the wonderful and artistic detailing of yore...

A wreath on the door—
is it a sign of welcome
or sinister sign?
