Birding 2 by 2

In the warm months mine is a wold of camping, hiking and enjoying our summer home in the Eastern Sierra.  Late Fall and Winter finds me and my camera at the eastern edge of California's great valley, a winter resort for a wide variety of birds.  Recently, my camera seemed to find the water fowl arranged in pairs.  The first three were taken at the pond in my header, the wood ducks hang out in a different pond.

You can find more views of this wonderful planet we call home at That's My World Tuesday, hosted for us each week by Klaus, Sandy, Wren and Sylvia.

Great variety of birds, in pairs no less. And nice captures too. Convenient having a pond close by. I really like the Buffleheads.

Nice photos- I need to get out somewhere and find some wood ducks!

They look so calm from the top yet, if we look below the water, they struggle or a better word is they work hard paddling and staying a float. A lesson to learn for all of us.

Very cool. Last week for the first time I recognized some goldeneyes. I am definitely a novice at birding. LOL

Really like those Cormorants. I think it's the way they're posed in those branches. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.

A fine collection of birds! That pond looks so calm and peaceful, I'd love to spend hours there soaking it up and watching the feather crowd.
