Spring Lamb (& Kid)

Each year our homeowners' association hires a flock of goats and sheep to clear the grass and some brush from the open space.
Most of the residents enjoy it,  especially if they have grandchildren living in the area.
I find the goats to be much more handsome than the sheep.
Since it is spring there are many new kids and lambs, new ones each day.  This mom didn't like me watching and nudged her young ones.
They obediently got up and followed her.
The new lamb's are just as cute.  They will eat the vegetation in the open area beyond our yard for a few days and then move to another area.

Oh! I don't think those little ones were moving away because you were there with your camera . . . I think they were just showing off!

Great plan for the area. I need to heck with my friend Dave and see if his ewes are lambing yet. I went out and did a photoshoot a couple of years ago. He bred them late because at age 89 he didn't feel like being up in the middle of the night with them in January.

Such good shots! I agree about the goats being cuter...no contest! I remember you posted about this last year, but I could look at them every week! (I remember because it was one of the posts I called to Bill to come look at -- it's such a cool thing for the Assn to do.)

What a wonderful idea. I don't know why other places don't do that. Super photos, as always, Martha.

Goats take care of mowing a lot of weeds in our neck of the woods, too! I love seeing the baby goats and little lambs in the springtime!

I like both goats and sheep. I have owned a sheep that never got its tail cut off and Mom made me keep it clean. One day, after it repeatedly butted her in the garden, she told me to walk him down to the slaughter house and sell him.

It was a sad day in my life.
