Morning Sky

I love waking to this view in the morning, as the first light hits the mountains across from our cabin.  Yesterday the sky sported a mackerel sky adding some interest to the sky.

Find more skies from around the world at SkyWatch, Friday, hosted by Sandy, Wren and Sylvia.

Oh, yes! I love it when I can wake to skies like these and you did capture the beauty! Breathtaking photo! Lately I've been able to do just that, too. One of the great things about where I live now is the views I have, not only of the sunsets from my office, but the sunrises from our deck on the 5th floor as well as Mt. Rainier from the roof!! There truly is beauty every where! Have a great day, Martha!

I know a mackerel sky is supposed to mean something weather-wise, but I cannot think of what it is...so I will go look it up. :)

What a lovely view!

I think this is going to be the best Sky Watch Friday yet. The things I have seen are very encouraging and the photography is spot on. I really admire your photography skills and your critical eye for composition, lighting and texture.

Wonderful mackerel sky, Martha. I had forgotten that phrase until you reminded me of it. What a great view to have in the morning.

They appeared as if a kid has plucked a cotton ball and sprinkled tufts across the sky. Beautiful. :D

This is a view from your cabin? Lucky you!

A MAN WHO LOOKED UP AT THE SKY

A man who looked up at the sky
Saw ravens and clouds flying by.
He had to look up,
The sky filled his cup—
He’s my kind of sky-watching guy!

Beautiful skies. I am glad you are safe(per the post below). I thought you were still at your cabin, because as usual I am a day late and a dollar short -- and way behind.
