We don't usually get much rain after March but this year we have had a much needed bonus, a good soaking rain in April.
With my garden now in bloom I went out to see if I could capture some raindrops on iris.
I have lots of iris and some of the bearded iris are now in bloom,
And the columbine as well.
The dogwood
Climbing on the dogwood is a clematis, as the dogwood starts to fade the clematis comes into full bloom.

wow, these shots are stunning, I love the first! What a crisp, clear picture and I love the deep and rich color! Great shots!
How nice to get a little unexpected rain. The flowers look to have enjoyed it. So colorful. Only seeing a few tree buds here.
Thanks for sharing the great blooms. Spring skiing is still real good here...
I love iris and with raindrops...I love them more! Wasn't the rain this Sunday night fabulous? I was also out Monday morning shooting raindrops on the greenery of my day lilies.
Poetry at its best. A deep bow for these pictures.
Please have a wonderful Wednesday.
The garden after the rain is always a joy.
Great shots.
I love how some look battered and bruised, but still have vibrancy!
You are blessed to see so many colors of Iris so soon. I have seen one Iris so far in bloom here. That was a couple weeks ago. I am waiting for the Iris by the VA hospital to bloom as it is a field of beauty. You have taken some excellent shots of Iris in your own garden and other beauties too! Thanks for sharing your spring with us through the rain.
Wow! spectacular shots.
Martha I love these -- first I miss seeing Iris -- a lot of Spring flowers don't (apparently) bloom well in Florida. Secondly, I love how you caught the water drops -- they are just beautiful. Thanks!
I'm crazy for your iris. They are so beautiful, especially with the raindrops. Sadly, we did not get any rain out of your storm. They stayed in the northern part of Arizona and didn't make it south :-(
Your garden is blooming like mad, Martha - love the raindrops on the flowers. That clematis on the dogwood is really pretty - I tried to grow some clematis here in Denver, but it isn't doing real well. Love the color of that columbine, too.
We won't have most of these for at least another month.
I love droplet pictures. And you had the advantage of gorgeous sunshine and beautiful flowers right there.
Lovely photos!
Beautiful irises and raindrops! We are way behind with blooms so it's especially nice to admire yours.
You've got some gorgeous colors in your garden. These images are breathtaking!
What BEAUTIFUL captures of these blossoms after the rain here ... nifty blue skies ... wonderful shadows in the sundial photo ... and marvelous views from the Sierras and of Death Valley. Seems like you followed my sister and her husband by a few days. Glad the weather didn't inhibit your travels ;-)
Hugs and blessings,
