New Melones Reservoir

While camping at New Melones Reservoir last week we went down to the lake to watch the sun set.
We saw these turkey vultures looking for a roost for the night.

As the sun slipped behind the hills, the sky lit up with color.

See more skies from around the world at SkyWatch Friday, hosted for us by Klaus, Sandy, Wren and Sylvia.

What a beautiful sunset Martha!! I always see lots of those Turkey Vultures here also but never saw any come down to land. I wonder what they eat?? Do they swoop down and get small animals or eat small turkeys?? Ha!

Wonderful sunset Martha! When we see "buzzards" circling we always joke about needing to get up and move around, so they'll know we're alive ;>)

Beautiful sunset -- lovely place to camp. Vultures are sure prettier when they're circling than when they're on the ground doing their job ;>)....
