Green Creek--My world

A cold front moved through last week leaving our normally cool mountain downright chilly. The Green Creek trail is 1500' lower and normally too hot for a pleasant hike in August but this day, it was perfect.
The trail follows Green creek most of the way but the creek is below the trail and hidden by trees and brush much of the time, here I caught a glimpse. Often you can hear it even if you can't see it.
Sometimes the trail is in shade.
Other times it is in the open and can be quite hot.
In some places small side streams cross the trail.
The lower elevation has many plants that I don't see up on the mountain.
This old Juniper looks like it has had a hard life but it is covered with berries.
These plants (I think they are a form of manzanita) form themselves to rocks.
I'd love to have this old log to decorate my garden.
The reward for our effort was lovely Green Lake. Our son Mark went on to East Lake which I think is even prettier.
The return trip offered great views to the east.
Check out more worlds here.

This is a beautiful trail. I'll bet the sound of the creek is every bit as lovely as seeing it. And the lake is gorgeous. I also like the manzanita growing sculpture like over the boulder. Great tour and captures.

Perfect climate and a good hike. Everything is so beautiful where you are. It is so rewarding to see Mother nature. I'd better get my legs worked up for my next adventure.

That's a beautiful hike and great pictures to go with it. the last shot with the sky is wonderful! Thanks for visiting my MW post. A 'folly' is difficult to define - something that has no real purpose, probably decorative and cost a lot of money to build, very popular in Victorian Britain and probably the century before that.

Its me again, I have been gallivanting around downtown, and you would be surprised how the Library has transformed since the fire (?) not sure. But it is called Riordan Public Lib. I have lots of photos and sure will post them. Been to Clifton's on Broadway two months ago and the menu has not changed and I still see the same servers from the old Cliftons, around the block from One Wilshire (my old office) across from Robinsons.

That was a very scenic hike. As much as I dislike cool weather, I definitely prefer it for hiking.
