Water off a Ducks Back--Watery Wednesday

Looking at this Cinnamon Teal I can see where the expression "Like water off a ducks back" came from. The oil in his feathers makes the water bead up.

He seems to be giving me the eye.

When he flips upside-down he churns up the water with his feet.

You can see other watery sights at Watery Wednesday, hosted for us each week by 2sweetnsaxy.

Great pictures -- and what a cool observation. Your picture does really show that water beadiing up and rolling off. I'm going to look more closely next time I go duck watching

HA! It's so fun to watch ducks eat. Lovely shots of the cinnamon teal.

Did he wiggle? Yeah, it is fun watching them play a little bit of water!

P.S. When I was at the Carrizo Plain, a couple who just came from Death Valley was disappointed because there were no wildflowers.

The eye isn't all it seems to be giving you. ;-)
Sure is a beautiful duck. Great captures of the water beading.

Funny, you and I have almost the same post on Wednesday! I had a duck on my Wednesday post as well. Happy WW. :-)

Those are beautiful!
I don't wanna put words in the ducks beak, but when he goes diving and shows you his butt after giving you 'the eye', it makes me 'grin' :D

LOL ... that last shot is a gem but they're ALL wonderful watery views. Loved the virtual visit to Joshua Tree in the previous post, the lovely clear blue skies and linear shadows in other posts too. Sorry to have been a stranger for way too long. It's been almost a month since I've opened my reader, but I'm doing what I can to begin catching up today. Hope all's well with you and yours. Thanks for your continued visits ;-)
Hugs and blessings,
