Shadows in the Sky

This could almost be a shadow shot with the cloud shadows in the sky.  It may look like a scene from a movie about the end of the world but it is just the sun setting behind the coast range with a little air pollution adding to the color.  My hill may be only 300' but that is enough to give me a view across the Sacramento Valley.

See more skies from around the world at SkyWatch Friday, hosted for us by Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy and Sylvia.

Wow Martha, that's spectacular! I'm amazed that a 300 ft hill can give such an expansive view. But guess the Sacramento Valley is really low.

I just love those, I guess they are not sunrays, but maybe shadow rays in the sky.

This is a wow photo, Martha! Yes, air pollution adds a lot of colour to the skies, doesn't it? For sure that's why I see so many lovely sunsets. Thank goodness there's ONE positive about pollution. LOL

I had just finished commenting on Archie's smoggy sunset when I found yours. In truth, some of the best sunset photos I've ever produced have been "enhanced" by particulate matter. One of the more "interesting" things about living in the modern world? Anyway, this is lovely nonetheless. (Sorry for the double post; my fingers aren't working today.)
