Half Dome Reflected

I know, I've showed you reflections of Half Dome before.  With the help of a great little book, "The Photographer's Guide to Yosemite" I found a new vantage point.  Rather than standing with the masses on Sentinel Bridge, we had this spot to ourselves.
I couldn't get both this nice framing above and the full reflection in the water (I need a wider lens, are you listening Santa?)
I'm giving you both versions since I can't decide which I like better.  It was a hazy evening.  Maybe someday I will get this shot on a clear day with a wide angle and make you see it yet again.  Better yet, go see it with your own eyes, you'll be glad you did.

Weekend Reflections are brought to us by James at Newtown Area Photo.

Regardless of your pleas to Santa, I really like that first shot, Martha. The reflections looked a lot like autumn leaves to me at first glance.

Both version are really beautiful in fact... But my favourite is the first one : the colors are so warm on it... It is a very nice shot.

I love the reflection of the golden dome. Hope Santa heard your Christmas wish. Maybe he'll bring me a camera that takes lenses. ;)

Wow, Martha these are both great! I think the bottom one is my favorite because of the rich blue sky color in the water and I love the lacy tree on the right.

Either is a blessing to see when one can't travel there! Thanks for letting me see both views through your eyes!

Oh, wow! I don't know if I've ever seen this camera shot before with the lake reflection! What a mirror the lake was for your capture. Not a breath of breeze.
I like the framing, but the full reflection is too good to sacrifice for the framing.

Martha -- beautiful shot(s). I'm not sure which I love the most either. I clicked on both and went back and forth.

Wonderful to find this new vantage point with the help of this interesting book. Someday I hope to graduate to more than tourist shots!

Yosemite is just amazing isn't it?.

Both shots are magnificent, but the second is my favorite, Martha. I KNOW what a good girl you've been! I'll vouch for you with Santa.

Oh, Martha! Amazing shots of an amazing place. I am always stunned to look at these mountains, just in photos, I can only hope that one day I make it to see them in all their splendor. Thanks for the fantastic photos!

Peace,
Gina

I'm glad enough that I did from the Sentinel Bridge. Interesting people there. But where is this new secret vantage point. Next time.

Decisions, decisions! Can I say that each has its beauty, and I prefer both?
