The Getty--My World

We visited the Getty last week while Michael was in school. I can enjoy the Getty without ever setting foot inside. I like the shapes, the textures, the play of light and shadow, the water features.
These stairs and some water features greet you when you step off the tram from the parking garage.
There are gardens to wander through.
From the hilltop site there is a marvelous view of the Pacific, even on this hazy day. I'll have more to show you latter in the week.
See more worlds at That's My World, hosted for us each week by Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy and Sylvia.

Beautiful building, grounds and ocean view! I'm sorry I never visited the Getty when I lived in California, but at least I can enjoy it through your pictures.

Hi Martha, On my way back to Denver, I thought of you and wondered if you were back home after staying with Michael. Sounds as though you had time for a field trip! Hope all went well while you were in LA.

I was born in LA and grew up in the SF Valley. Unfortunately, I moved before having the chance to visit this beautiful museum. I plan to visit this summer and after looking at your photos, I can hardly wait!

Thanks for the wonderful tour! I enjoyed it very much.

I was thinking there is a similar place in Oregon -- saw it when I went to Oregon Gardens awhile back but we didn't have time to check out the museum. . . I could be wrong but something sounds familar.
