Monochrome Library

I thought our new public library would be a good subject for a monochrome shot.

I took my polarizing filter and shot in raw.
I'm pleased with how they came out, I think it is a beautiful building, and well suited to its site at the edge of rolling, seasonal wetlands.

Love the lamp standards in your second photo. It looks a building set to withstand raw weather.

Smart building, cleancut. Nice sky there.

It's an interesting building - it looks so new still. I'm sure the architect would love your shots, too.

It's new but in mono it has a very '60s retro feel. The skies are so atmospheric in these too.

I like the sky of the first one and the crispness of the second one. I read that my Nikon can also take pictures "raw" - this is a new term for me, got to read up on it.

Your new library looks awesome in black and white. I love the stonework, lamps and windows. I'll bet it's wonderful inside as well.

Nice shot Martha, every time I look for B&W photos, I do appreciate the weight of every part of the image.
