There's a Bear!

A sharp eyed fellow passenger on the Yosemite Valley Shuttle spotted this guy near Happy Isles. It was evening so the shutter speed was a bit slow even at ISO of 400. The bear was minding his own business and we continued on to our campsite. We did, I must admit, leave the footpath where the photographer is standing and put a little more distance between us and the bear.

See more critters at Camera Critters.

EXCITING! That photographer seems very relaxed while getting her shot...I would be afraid the bear would change its mind about "minding its own business!" Always keep the camera handy...you just never know...

There is something so thrilling about seeing a bear in the wild.

Cool sighting and great photo, I love seeing bears. As long as it is from a distance.

That is exciting, I have never seen a bear like this. The photographer puts this in perspective. Great shot!

You were very brave to take that photo, I think. They are lovely animals but unpredictable. :)

That must have been exciting! I've never seen a bear in AZ. I love your new header with Bridal Veil Falls.

Very exciting to see this bear. I'm glad it wasn't you taking the pic in your image, but it does put into perspective what some visitors to wild places do.

Oh my, I would not care to be that close. Great photo, however!

That's quite a magnificent header shot you have!

Amazing capture of a bear on a log! And the bear seems to be quite indifferent to a photographer! Amazing!

A great picture = I'm sure you got a better one than the lady standing so close -- and you were safer! Smart girl.

That's pretty exciting. Like you I need a little more distance from the subject.
