Red Tail Rising--Sky Watch

I am always watching the sky and the trees when we walk. It's a wonder I don't trip and fall.
We spotted this hawk, a Red Tail I think and although he moved around, hunting and feeding I was able to get some pretty good shots.
He flew from his perch in a tree before I could get my camera up. He didn't go far though and perched on a fence.
He took off, went to ground and I think found a tidbit that he took to this tree.

Then he was off again.

See more skies here.
Sky Watch Friday is hosted by Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy, Louise and Sylvia. A round of applause to you all for giving us this wonderful meme.

When I walk I tend to watch my feet, also looking for rocks, and then bump my head. Glad you were looking up for this great sighting. Plus a bonus to catch it hunting and eating. Great captures.

Beautiful shots Martha! A big grin on the first paragraph! I do that too, I am more scared if I trip and break my camera!

P.S. Your comment went to spam, don't know why.

Very nice capture of the hawk! And nice that he staryed in the open long enough for you to get several shots.

I tend to run into low growing tree branches, because I am always looking at the plants on the ground ;0)

Thanks so much for stepping in my tuscany; I loved it!!
Wonderful pictures!!!!!
I looked at this wonderful hawk and I emember our "CHJ"....we found 2 years ago a hawk in the woods, very weak..he couldn't anymore fly!
We feeded him; we let him freely in our woods..it was an incredible experience: he got well again and he still lives close in these hills...!
have a great weekend

This is a fantastic avian, sitting tall and proud as he contemplates his next morsel. The profile as he flies in the sky is elegant, as these wide winged birds are so graceful in flight...
