As the sun set on the reserve it got too dark for birding or photography except, of course, for one last sky shot.
See more beautiful skies here. Skywatch Friday is brought to us each week by Klaus, Sandy, Wren, Fishing Guy, Louise and Sylvia. Many thanks to you all.

Terrific reflection of the sun upon the lake, Martha. You have captured the colour so very well. I like this a lot.
And that one last shot was certainly worthwhile. So lovely!
And what a terrific last shot it was! Love the reflection on the water and the colors are stunning!
Happy Thanksgiving, Martha, to you and yours!

Beautiful sunset. The colors are fantastic. Happy skywatching. :)
Simply gorgeous.
Have a great weekend
It looks like the sun is being held aloft by a sheer silk sheet just settling down to put the earth to bed. Great sunset capture. Hope you had a great day birding.
Beautiful colors; magnificent sunset!
I love the bronze colors.
Excellent sunset frame and reflection shot.
The golden colors are captured so beautifully. I love the sun's reflection and the silhouettes create a frame. This is a fabulous photograph.
A very...liquid sunset. Everything seems molten - beautiful.
Lovely last shot of the day...beautiful reflection. Great color. Thanks for sharing.
I like the lacy leaves over the sunset colors and the clouds partially covering the sun. Looks like a graceful ending to your birding day.
Such warm & beautiful colors!
Wow ... what a beautiful view at the end of a wonderful day! Love the colors, reflections, and silhouetted plants. Hope you and yours had a great Thanksgiving ;-)
Hugs and blessings,
Beautiful sunset picture.
That is a stunning photo.
The sky looks liquid, Martha. I hope you had a good Thanksgiving. Did you spend it with Michael?
Hi Martha -- I really loved this post and the one before it as well. Re:your comment about forgetting the binoculars when you were bird watching. I find it impossible to juggle camera and binos when we're watching birds. I don't take very good bird pictures anyway, so usually opt for the binoculars. Your pictures are so good; I'd go for the camera if I were you ;>)) Thanks for sharing, I will come back.
Barb,
No, we didn't spend Thanksgiving with Michael. He and his parents will come next weekend so that his Dad and Uncle can run in the California International Marathon. We'll all be together in LA for Christmas.
Magnificent photo!

The sun reflected in the water creates a golden path for the night to come in.
